I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! :-) who doesn't love ice cream once in awhile? And for those that are lactose intolerant they have several flavors of Sherbet. For breakfast I've tried the pancakes and they were fluffy and yummy. The omelets looked good too. I've also tried one of their featured items, the chicken strips and they were just lightly battered chicken breast and quite good. Tillamook ice Creamery & Restaurant offers up approximately 45 flavors of hand scooped ice cream/sherbet as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. We've indulged in the ice cream as well and they serve cones, shakes and malts. They support locals by offering Tillamook and Umpqua flavors. Some of you may not know that the building itself is a 90 year old historic building that originally was a bank. Fun fact! The building is small but they also have tables outside next to the private parking lot. 2015-91

On vacation from California, what a gem of a find this was! It was a HOT day and we thought ice cream sounded good, YELP did not let me down this place is great!! Food was so good. I had a turkey melt sandwich, my friend had the chicken avocado both really GOOD!! would do again. Ice cream, so many flavors to choose. The scoop size is crazy big so watch out. And prices are nice. And the staff was so friendly. The town is cute and clean too. What's not to like!

I have gone to this establishment for 15+years. Unfortunately the staff has not represented the company well today. The Manager REFUSED to allow me & my children sit at a booth to have lunch. She offered a table because we were a smaller party. When I asked again for a booth she simply said no. Then she told me, if I don't take the table, they would have room for us. This was while they had a open booth, and no other customers waiting. To me this is unacceptable customer service. I then again asked why we couldn't have the booth, and she said incase another party came. Again, NO ONE else was there. I was there as a party of 3 ready to be a paying customer. Finding that the Manager did not want to accommodate us, we left. As I walked out the door she yelled "have a fantastic day". Simply POOR MANAGEMENT! To bad for for the representation of staff the company has hired. I will now ALWAYS take my business elsewhere. I will also let every person I know how unprofessional the staff were to me.

Crowded and a little disorganized, but how can you have bad ice cream? I mean, come on! The flavor selection was great, the portions were good and the options for shakes, sundae's, etc was good.

Is there anything better than a burger, fries and a thick shake? I think not. For my first time in Lake Oswego, I believe I made a good choice. I love a retro place thrown back in time and that's exactly what this place is. Tillamook ice cream and cheese shows some good quality and a great burger special to top it off. I was hungry and had seen this from the bus on my way over here for a meeting. I did a quick Yelp search and found out that they have a daily burger special. Tillamook cheeseburger and a shake for $11.95. The prices have been raised since the link that was in the Yelp profile for this. You get a nice sized burger with all the fixings, plus some pretty good steak fries (hint: order them well done, they come out soooo crispy) and a really large shake. Lots of flavors of ice cream, but you can't go wrong with chocolate. As you can see by my photo, you get a lot of shake. No brain freeze here, I can handle my own. The burger was what you'd expect it to be and I was happy, I added some bbq sauce to it. The shake was thick and perfect and chocolate goodness. Can't say much more than that. Staff was great and the menu had plenty of other options besides burgers. Sandwiches, salads, chicken items, all good I'm sure. Enjoy.

Their ice cream is really good and their pancakes are amazeballs. I would recommend for people to go there to eat pancakes and burgers and milkshakes and ice cream and French fries and stuff.

I stopped in here while waiting for a prescription to be filled because I saw they served breakfast. Kind of a funny combination, ice cream and breakfast but I only ordered breakfast. Casual, quaint and cozy interior reminiscent of a 50s style diner. Service was cordial enough. The breakfast was cooked to order and to my specifications. The food tasted great but it was pretty standard stuff, eggs, bacon, hash browns etc. Definitely better than a Denny's or comparable place. I will be returning to try the ice cream. Nice affordable stop in the overpriced and overrated LO area.

Good selection of ice cream with a helpful staff. They don't make their own but rather sell ice cream by Tillamook, Cascade and Umpqua. Junior scoop us 1/2 of the 1 scoop serving but is only 25 cents cheaper so seems a bit out of whack!

I am giving this place a two, not because I haven't always had a pretty good experience here, but because of the way my friend was treated here. As a pillar of the community, living here for 30 years and raising two kids here, she used to take her little charges to the creamery. Until one day, she was asked to leave and never come back. Since this woman is one of the kindest, most respectful ladies I know, I can only think her treatment must be based on her lack of homogeneity with the rest of the clientele. She doesn't drive, and she's not overtly wealthy. She has been asked before as she walks around town if she is homeless-- and yet nothing about her would suggest this other than the fact that she doesn't own an SUV. She works a punishing schedule and gives back to her community. Therefore, I think that scaring a nice lady about eating at your restaurant is simply mean, and I disapprove on her behalf. I know it's a small space inside. But regulars come because they like you- they are big part of your business.

My overall experience was 3 stars, however the ice cream was so good! I got the Fireside S'Mores. Yummmy! We also tried the beef barley soup which was good as well. The waitress was rude and very short. That's my only complaint. Other than that it's a great old traditional place I'd recommend going for the ice cream.

I really hate to give this place a bad review - my family and I have been coming here for years and years and we've always loved it. I would give them 5 stars usually. No complaints about the food or ice cream, but recently the service has been especially bad. Today my brother and I came in for lunch and we sat for 20 minutes without even being acknowledged by any of the staff. When I finally, politely, said that we had been sitting in our booth for quite a while, the waitress was rude and seemed exasperated. She acted like it was a chore to take our order and serve our food. They weren't even THAT busy. Perhaps they were understaffed, but you NEVER treat customers like they're unwelcome in your establishment. I'll give them more chances, but if they keep up these bad vibes my family and I will be coming here less and less.

Best breakfast around. Must go. Always friendly and always good food. They open at 7 a m with coffee ready to serve.

I can't support a business that claims to specialize in ice cream and does not have sprinkles. If I had known this going in I wouldn't have gotten an ice cream cone. Haven't been back since and probably won't until there's a change.

A bout of nostalgia led us to this ice cream shop. We used to live in LO and visited often. Sadly this is not the little shop of our memory. We arrived later in the evening on a Friday night. The first thing I noticed was a distinct smell...not a nice one...wafting through the air. We sat down at a table that had not been properly cleaned, by that, I mean sticky and smudged. The other tables were in no better condition. A waiter arrived holding two glasses of water by the top rim. I didn't drink the water. We ordered a shake and a sundae. The sundae was dripping over the side of the glass, with no plate underneath. The shake was watery...like chocolate milk. We sent it back, The waiter poured the shake into the container we drank from to remix the shake...not sure that was sanitary. We were not given napkins. The stars are for the ice cream which was tasty. I got the feeling that there is no manager on site overseeing the staff. I will not be back...it was just a bit too grimy.

Very friendly and prompt service on a busy summer Sunday at 1:00. My shake (which was fantastic!) came out in less than 3 minutes, and my burger (also fantastic!)quickly followed. They use Tillamook cheese and ice cream all throughout their menu. On a scorching summer day I knew a classic burger and shake was exactly what I needed. I now have a favorite burger joint the next time I pass through Lake Oswego.

DON'T BUY GIFT CARDS FROM THEM! I received a $25 gift certificate to them last Christmas. I went in to redeem it for the 1st time today and there cash register couldn't read the card and when they typed in the number on the back of the card it read as $0.00 on it... so my brother gave them $25 for nothing...

I was in Tigard when my mind started thinking about ice cream on the rainy day! I believe, I drove pass 3 or 4 Baskin Robins to get to Lake O Ice Creamery and it was well worth it!!!! I had Banana Split (If you look at my photo - from left to right: Mudslide, Coffee Almond Fudge & Maui Waui)! :)

After my Son's Parent-Teacher Conference at nearby Marylhurst University, we headed out for the Weekend. Being the handsome and healthy Teenager that he is, the first order of business was food, and in large quantities. He suggested the Lake Oswego Ice Creamery and Restaurant, and this place looked good to me too as I love old fashioned looking places. This was easily a 5 Star experience, as the food was delicious and plentiful, service was Midwest friendly and fast, the locals were interesting to look at and listen in on, and the atmosphere was down home unpretentious. My Son raved about his Malt and Burger, while I really enjoyed my clam chowder and salad, along with the best strawberry lemonade that I had ever tasted. Next time I'll pay more attention to the ice cream and ponder the "Dated and Divey" continuum as it may apply to Lake Oswego.

Great ice cream horrible service. When I walked in there were five employees just standing there looking at me, not one greeted me. I knew what I wanted to order so I made my order very clear. As if ignoring me the first time, the guy asked me again what my order was. All the while I'm standing at the register waiting to pay so that I can leave. A girl RIGHT in front of me at the register had not looked up once as I stood there for a long while. In addition as if her being completely oblivious wasn't bad enough, at the register next to her was a guy just standing there. He could have rang me up right then! But no it went on and on until finally she looked up and said "oh...ummm are you ready to pay?" To which I replied ".....YEAH." It made quite an impression on me in the worst possible way. Working with people full time, I know what good service is, I know what fantastic service is! The snobby stuck up employees there know nothing about either. I recommend this place to anyone who likes their ice cream served with an extra side of sass and a day ruined.

The ice cream is great. The food, however, is greasy and is nothing special at all. It's very expensive for what you get and the service is very average. I have for sure had some nicer servers, but for the most part the teenagers seem pretty bored. And I'm not saying they shouldn't be bored...but they shouldn't act like it. Tried several menu items- always disappointing. It's literally what a stoner might make at one o clock in the morning...except then it doesn't cost $11.

This place is relatively good for ice cream. You can just get your ice cream and walk around to all the shops. Marion Berry is my fav!

Such a cute little place! Has an old-timey diner feel to it, and you can sit down and eat dinner or walk up to the counter and order ice cream. I can only speak to the ice cream, but it is gooood (psst... try the strawberry cheesecake!)

Nothing super special about the ice cream. Have two different kinds of Oregon made ice cream. I prefer the tillamook ice cream but both are good. Nice quant little ice cream shop that is open late.

I really enjoyed this little restaurant! They offer a great selection of burgers and sandwiches that use Tillamook Cheese. I don't normally order a grilled cheese, but they have one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches that I have ever tasted, and the mac & cheese for kids is homemade! The shakes are delicious - try the huckleberry, and the service is very friendly!

No doubt the ice cream is local and phenomenally tasty: two superb reasons to try this place. I would just skip the food here because its slightly below average in quality but slightly above average in price. For Food, I'd give this place 2 stars. I've eaten here in a pinch before, and I would again, but restricting your visit to ice cream only will probably make you much happier.

I love Tillamook ice cream. Chocolate Peanut Butter. OMG!!! This is a place I want to love... Great location in the heart of downtown Lake O and 25 varieties of Tillamook ice cream to choose from, but it never fails to let me down. I'm like a spurned lover who returns trying to make it work one more time but it just ends in disaster. What kills me is the service. Not that I expect every restaurant (even in Lake O) to be all shiny, new and fabulous, but if you aren't then can you be quick or funny or innovative or quirky or cool. Seriously, I would be satisfied with any one of these options. The restaurant is worn and they don't seem to get the concept of clearing tables for new customers. They have about eight booths inside and eight tables on a patio outside. Three servers should be able to manage but there were LONG waits to be seated, to receive the menus, to have our order taken, to receive food, etc. The food was actually OK. I had the chicken soft tacos (three large ones that I couldn't finish) and my son loved his burger. But the the sides were pitiful. My black beans - uck! and he only received eight fries with his meal. He actually said, "Sorry I couldn't share Mom, but there weren't very many." What a sweetie! Kids meals are $5 and come with a drink and cup of ice cream so he actually had a good meal. They also have a couple of cute touches (I think to just torture me - drinks served in Mason jars and a height chart that corresponds with the number of scoops to order by the bathrooms.) Just why, oh why, do they squander the opportunity to be awesome. See ya later, pals.

Great burgers (especially with the jack tillamook cheese), red pepper bisque soup, and halibut sandwich...quaint town, great food! Everything tasted great... It definitely hit the spot after driving 17 hours to get to Oregon from California! Prices are average, about $8 for a sandwich/burger plus fries. Their ice cream is VERY good and is a must have before you leave! Overall, this Tillamook restaurant is very deserving of 4 stars. Their customer service is superb as well! We will definitely be back, again and again :)

Best ice cream in Portland Metro. We drive 20+ mins to get here and it's well worth it. Tillamook is awesome ice cream, plenty of flavors to choose from. Neat little place, not a lot of seating, gets pretty busy on the weekend.

I can't vouch for their food but I love their ice cream. The location is just a cherry on top. I love taking a stroll with my family with an ice cream in my hand!

  • J. H.

I will give them 3 stars for the ice cream taste, but minus one star for their lack of consistency after they packed my quart to go orders. Sometimes they were tightly packed, and some other times their was almost a 1/4 less amount. I think one of the girl's that works there is not making enough effort to scoop out the ice cream and packing it tight inside the container properly. Food items were not memorable. I had dinner 3-4 times here, but I don't even remember what the orders were (this statement alone should tell you something).

Great place to take the young kids! My twin 2.5 year olds really liked the restaurant. Everyone was super friendly to them including the staff. The kids menu is within acceptable parameters for their age group tastes. Ice cream comes with all the kids meals. We went during lunch time and did not get stares just "oh, how cute" smiles at my adorable daughters. If you are searching around for a casual, easy going and somewhat fun place for young kids in downtown L.O. then this is it! We are making it part of our regular hangout. PS I had a cheeseburger and fries and I thought it was well within the normal range of good fast diner style food. The steak cut fries, which I normally do not like, where crispy. And the girls mac n' cheese was better than Sweet Tomatoes- their standby favorite mac n' cheese pig out joint.

  • Nicole L.

Go there for the milkshakes! The rest of the food is just okay, but it's a fun little *date* with kids to go grab a milkshake or ice cream and catch up on their day at school.

I grew up with this place - when it was still called Tillamook Ice Creamery - so I will always have a soft spot for it. I remember the food being pretty good - what you'd expect for a little burger joint - but you should really go for the ice cream. Despite the 39 degree weather, we got a scoop of cookie dough and chocolate peanut butter ice cream (total $5.50). So creamy and rich. The staff was super pleasant.

Three Words: ROOTBEER FLOAT MILKSHAKE Seriously, if you like rootbeer, and you like milkshakes, and you like awesomeness; get yourself a Milkshake made with their Rootbeer Float icecream. It is nothing short of amazing. I think this is the only location left in portland, which is a shame.

The staff over there are super friendly young kids. Good burgers and milkshakes. Make sure you try their cheese sticks as well. I prefer going there for lunch.

Good, cheap greasy spoon. Best cheap eatery in Lake Oswego. Kid friendly

    (5)
  • Mike C.

Can't go wrong with the Tillamook ice cream, but be careful not to confuse the staff - it seems to happen easily. Anything more complex than a scoop of chocolate ice cream may get you a blank stare. Prices are rather high for the food items, but it is Lake Oswego... Cheeseburger and Steak Frys are nothing to write home about, but you didn't come here for the food now did you. I give it 3 stars, minus 1 for flagging my initial post for review and making me edit it.

Seems to be a local hang out for teens. They all loiter around the place and in the parking lot. Food was just OK. Carls Jr. has a bit better burger IMHO. The strawberry shake, though, was excellent!! We can thank good ol' TIllamook ice cream for that. =)

    (3)
  • Hannah J.

Tillamook Ice Creamery is the real deal. The real, fat-laden deal. The flavors range from the local (Oregon Black Cherry, Oregon Strawberry, Mountain Huckleberry) to the widespread, mainstream, and quintessential (Cookies and Cream, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Peanut Butter). I've quite literally eaten the Cookie Dough until I've made myself sick. (Never again!) The Creamery is a great place to take kids (I used to bring my babysitting chargees here), or to stop off at when you're on a date and just got your driver's license (been there, done that).

The sole reason for a visit here is the best ice cream ever...Tillamook ice cream. I am in love with this ice cream. Please try the mudslide, chocolate peanut butter, oregon strawberry, pecan praline or really any of the flavors.
